The Courage to Try2/3/2022 Sometimes, Life will attempt to take away our motivation to try. When life presents barriers , we find safety in planning. Planning and strategy are necessary and smart, but sometimes planning becomes procrastination that masks fear. It can cause one to get stuck. It can make us fearful to act. Fear. What is it that we are afraid of? It can be the unknown. It can be failure. It can be living up to the expectations of those that wish us harm. It could be causing harm. It could be feeling pain. In fact , I think trying or putting effort towards moving , is painful. Like working out. It's uncomfortable. How do we get the courage to embrace the risks and try, and try again? For me, that answer is hope. It's opportunity. It's believing that there are many more people in the world that want to see me succeed than fail. It's choosing to believe that joy is near and present. It's practicing gratitude. It's an active choice to focus on the light within me, and around my life, rather than the darkness and black hole of the hypothetical negative what if's of failure. Today, May we choose to believe in the goodness of ourselves and the possibilities of our potential. That belief will give us hope, and in that hope lies the action of courage. The audacity to say no to the negative. May we nurture our spirits and keep our courage. This is the way to freedom. Below is a demonstration of trying , failing, trying, failing, with my daughter to get her to sing. May you have joy. Victory is yours. May you have the courage to try! |
